
The Motorsport Commission of Malaysia today announced that it has signed an extension of its current agreement with the Formula One Management Limited for the hosting of the Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix till 2015. The countries current agreement would expire at the end of 2010.
The Chairman of the Motorsport Commission of Malaysia, Mr. Dato' Azman Yahya, said: "It is very pleasing to note that the Government has reaffirmed its commitment to Formula One, this will not only provide long term benefits to tourism, it will also help us in expanding the already substantial motor sport industry in line with the Government's objective of turning Malaysia into a regional hub for motor sport."
