Alonso feeling unrewarded by McLaren

Alonso feeling unrewarded by McLaren

25 August 2007

Fernando Alonso has suggested he feels unrewarded by the McLaren team for the help he brought them in improving so much for this season. Alonso joined from Renault, which has slumped without him at the helm and has been a regular fixture of McLaren's testing programme.

"What I think sometimes and what I asked the team is that I've given them a lot," Alonso told BBC Radio. "When I arrived in December I remember the car I drove. I remember the results they had in 2006 and you know I brought them half-a-second, six-tenths and I don't see anything giving me back. That's the only thing."

Alonso's comments are likely to stir up the media again just hours after the team moved to officially play down the rift between the champion and Lewis Hamilton.
