Alonso 'happy' to stay at McLaren

Fernando Alonso insists he is happy to stay at McLaren in 2008 despite mounting speculation that he may part company with the team at the end of this season. The driver market at least, is waiting for certainty on whether Alonso will move or not.

"As long as I have a winning car I'm happy," Alonso said. "This season we have a winning car and are leading the drivers' and constructors' championships so I'm happy."

"There aren't many other options for next season," he added. "I've got a contract with McLaren so the near future will be around here driving for McLaren. As far as I know that's the only possibility."
