Massa delights in 'amazing' win
26 August 2007 / Results / PhotosFelipe Massa was clearly delighted with his dominant lights-to-flag victory in the Turkish Grand Prix, the venue of his maiden F1 victory in 2006.
"It's amazing, just the third time I've been at Istanbul and to win the second starting from pole again," said Massa who won his fifth career Grand Prix today. "I love the track and here is when my career switched on and I started winning races and fighting with the front runners. It's a special place for me and taking a second win here is just amazing."
Massa's afternoon wasn't plain sailing as he explained why he did a DIY job on his helmet half-way through the race, "I had a crack on the cooling system on the helmet and I had a lot of turbulence, losing a lot of concentration so I just took it away, ripped it off and then it was better. We had a fantastic start and a very good pace on the softer tyres."
