Bridgestone is still investigating the cause of Lewis Hamilton's tyre deflation in the Turkish Grand Prix, whether it was a tyre failure or a puncture. Late on Sunday night there was still no word.
"Unfortunately, Lewis Hamilton's front right tyre deflated on his second stint and we are still investigating the reason for this," Bridgestone's head of track engineering operations Kees van de Grint explained. "The cause is not immediately evident following our preliminary investigations. Fortunately Hamilton was able to pit and finish the race to take points."
The tyre carcass has been shipped back to Bridgestone's factory for more detailed analysis.
