Fuji and Suzuki to share Japanese Grand Prix

Fuji and Suzuki to share Japanese Grand Prix

08 September 2007

The Japanese Grand Prix will return to Suzuka. Both tracks came to an agreement with Formula One Administration Limited (FOA) to alternate the Japanese Grand Prix between Fuji and Suzuka. The Japanese Grand Prix will be held at Fuji in 2007 and 2008, but from then onwards Fuji will host the race every other year.

"We have concluded an agreement on the alternation of the Formula One Japanese Grand Prix between Fuji Speedway and Suzuka Circuit, to ensure the progress and success of keeping Formula One in Japan over the long term," commented FOA CEO Bernie Ecclestone. "I am very happy that Fuji Speedway and Suzuka Circuit made this possible. It also makes me very pleased that we will retain Suzuka as it has supported Formula One for 20 years and the large amount of our fans."
