Raikkonen fastest in final free practice
15 September 2007 / Results / PhotosIn this weekend's final practice session the Ferrari drivers were fastest at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps track. Kimi Raikkonen completed the fastest lap this morning in 1:46.137s. McLaren drivers Alonso and Hamilton ended third and fourth, while Kovalainen showed he was well on the pace in fifth.
Whilst McLaren dominated free practice on Friday the session on Saturday morning was mostly dominated by the Ferrari drivers. Raikkonen topped the time sheets for most of the session.
Robert Kubica and Sakon Yamamoto were the only two drivers that faced a problem this morning. Already early into the session Kubica parked his BMW at the side of the track with a technical problem. Fifteen minutes before the end of the session Sakon Yamamoto flew off the track when his brake disk exploded on the entrance of a corner. Consquently the Japanese driver spun and crashed sideways into the tyre barriers. Fortunately he was able to get out of the car without any problems.
Qualifying will start later today at 14.00 local time.
