Raikkonen: Championship still open
16 September 2007 / Results / PhotosFerrari driver Kimi Raikkonen said he still believes he can fight for the Formula 1 championship this season after winning Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix. The Finn led the race from start to finish with his team mate Felipe Massa in second.
"I haven't given up yet, we are still racing for the title," Raikkonen said. "We have reduced the gap once again. We might have lost a bit in the last race (at Monza) but anything can still happen. There are three races still to go and everyone is really close.
"We will keep pushing and if we can win it then it would be amazing, but we will keep pushing and not give up yet."
Raikkonen furthermore said about his race weekend: "We knew that we would be stronger at Spa than at Monza and we understand why we are stronger here than at some other tracks, We will try to improve that for next season and then we can be really strong."
