BMW Sauber F1 test driver Timo Glock clocked the fastest time in Tuesday's day of testing in Jerez. The German completed a race distance in the South of Spain as the team prepares for the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix.

Tuesday was the first day of a three-day test session At Jerez. Testing got underway under perfect conditions. Nelson Piquet jr. focussed on Renault's 2008 car and ran the day without driver aids. His running was limited in the afternoon by a mechanical problem. "I was really looking forward to driving today, especially because I will be in the car every day this week, which is the first time I have had this opportunity since I joined the team," he said in Jerez.

At Ferrari the team's test driver Luca Badoer completed 36 laps. The team worked on their 2008 electronic systems.
