Sutil: Spa was a big step forward
19 September 2007Adrian Sutil showed a strong performance at Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix. He climbed from P19 at the grid to P12 fighting with mid-field drivers such as David Coulthard and Jarno Trulli. Sutil admitted it was one of his most exciting races of the season and he believes the B-spec car played an important role to his race.
Looking back at Sunday's race Sutil said: "It was a very good race. The best race so far for sure! It's nice to see that the B-spec car is working better, and we can have some success now. The whole race we were on it, we were fighting."
The B-spec car was introduced at the Italian Grand Prix, but the true pace from Spyker's latest car design was seen at Spa. "In qualifying especially it was better," said Sutil. "We were much quicker on the straights, that's where we gained the most time. Also in the race we were sometimes doing the same speeds as the Ferraris and McLarens on the straights. But now we need much more downforce, and that's where we have to find the time."
