McLaren fights back in second practice

McLaren fought back in second practice to overhaul Ferrari on the timesheets as Lewis Hamilton finished with a best lap of 1m18.734s at Fuji, 0.2s aheadof team mate Fernando Alonso and a full 0.7s ahead of Ferrari's Felipe Massa.

The second practice session saw more track action than usual as all teams and drivers worked to learn the new Fuji circuit. 

Jarno Trulli was a surprise fourth fastest ahead of Raikkonen, Kovalainen and Fisichella. David Coulthard, Ralf Schumacher and Kubica rounded off the top ten.

The only major drama came early in the session when Yamamoto spun and almost had a big collision with Rubens Barrichello.
