Kovalainen says team deserves podium
30 September 2007 / Results / PhotosHeikki Kovalainen was delighted with the best finish of his F1 career in second place, and after fending off a rampant charge from compatriot Kimi Raikkonen to make it the first ever podium with two Finns on it.
"What a roller coaster year it's been for us, especially myself and this weekend taking a bit of a gamble with the car with all the rain," Kovalainen said. "Things didn't look fantastic at the start of the race, but you never give up and the strategy worked out really well."
"The team deserves at least a podium this year and I'm really glad we got it," he added. "Kimi was pushing hard in the last stages and I just had to keep him behind."
