Briatore: The team got everything right

When the Renault team arrived at the Fuji International Speedway on Sunday morning, facing the difficult wet conditions on track, not many of them would expect to see the team's first podium finish after the chequered flag fell.

The team made the most out of the difficult conditions. Kovalainen was over the moon with his second place finish, behind championship leader Lewis Hamilton.

Renault team boss Flavio Briatore was please with the teamwork at Renault and commented: "At the last wet race in Germany, we didn't make the most of the situation and only scored one point. Today was completely different. The team got everything right, and Heikki did not make a single mistake. We scored twelve points with our two cars, and our rookie drove like a man with a lot more experience. Congratulations to the team: after a difficult season, they deserve this result."
