The Williams F1 team has questioned the legality of Prodrive's plans to enter F1 with customer cars and engines from McLaren Mercedes and the complaint has been referred to the FIA's international court of appeal.
The FIA has confirmed that a hearing will be held in London on 24 October, after the final round of the season in Brazil.
F1 rules were due to be changed to allow customer cars to be used from 2007, but talks have stalled and it seems that bosses are going to settle on keeping the current regulations until the end of next year and the current Concorde Agreement.
Prodrive's plans remain on ice until the situation has been clarified.
