Raikkonen - nothing to lose

Raikkonen - nothing to lose

08 October 2007

Kimi Raikkonen got the best result he could hope for in China in terms of his championship challenge as he took victory and championship leader Lewis Hamilton retired from the race. Raikkonen is now third in the chase, seven points behind Hamilton and in bullish mood for the season finale in Brazil.

"It's going to be very difficult to catch Hamilton as there's one race to go," Raikkonen said. "I've got nothing to lose, so I'll keep pushing and see what we can do in the last race. Things can happen, so there's still hope but we have to wait and see."

"It's not up to just us," he added. "But anything can happen. We're in a better position going to Brazil than I thought before China, but it will still be very difficult."
