Alonso meets with Modena magistrate

Fernando Alonso met with an Italian magistrate in Modena today as part of the ongoing investigation in Italy into the Ferrari-McLaren spy scandal which saw McLaren thrown out of the 2007 championship and get a $100 million fine.

Alonso is understood to have been interviewed in relation to the emails he had exchanged with test driver Pedro de la Rosa about Ferrari - the same emails that were used in the FIA's hearing.

The implications of the meeting remain to be seen, but last month McLaren executives were issued with a warning that they were being investigated in Italy as part of the scandal.
