
The new track surface at Interlagos will cut lap times this year and speed up the championship fight, organisers have warned. The resurfacing work has been undertaken in order to iron out some of the notorious bumps.
"Drivers will be able to accelerate more quickly in the two key segments," chief engineer Luis Ernesto Morales said. "The surface is also far smoother now."
