Dennis gets a constructors' trophy
22 October 2007McLaren team boss Ron Dennis has managed to get hold of a constructors' championship trophy, despite his team being stripped of all its points this season after the spying controversy.
At Interlagos, McLaren mechanics got a constructors' trophy made and presented it to their boss at the season finale.
"I was very pleased to get the constructors' trophy from the mechanics, that they made," Dennis told Reuters. "That was a nice touch."
"A lot of people still think we're a pretty cold, grey team but that's far from the truth," he added. "The team realises it has been a tough season so it was just a nice gesture."
"It meant a lot to me because it shows that in adversity we've come together closer and fought hard - it has a very strong sentimental value," he concluded.
