Heidfeld aims to win a race in 2008

At the end of his best-ever season in F1, Nick Heidfeld has stated defiantly that the aim for next year is to win his first race and thereafter challenge for the championship. The German driver finished the season on 61 points, fifth overall/

"This year everything came together: the new car, the new team members, our own wind tunnel," Heidfeld said. "The aim is to win a race next year, and to fight for the title thereafter."

His personal highlight of 2007 occurred during the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he managed to pull a spectacular overtaking manoeuvre on Fernando Alonso. 

"I thoroughly enjoyed that, and certainly received numerous compliments about it - not only from fans, but also from within the paddock," he added.
