Nakajima hopes to race in 2008

Williams F1 driver Kazuki Nakajima had a spectacular Formula 1 debut at the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday. As a replacement to Alexander Wurz Nakajima was able to stay close to Nico Rosberg. He finished the race in tenth position and said he now can't wait to get more Formula 1 action.

As a DAMS GP2 driver Nakajima busied himself for most of the season with the GP2 championship. His best result was a sixth position in Bahrain. His future is still uncertain for 2008 but after having tasted the action of Formula 1 it's pretty easy to guess where Nakajima would like to stand in 2008. "I still don't know what I'll be doing in 2008, whether it's a race-seat in F1 or another year of GP2," he said. "Having had this taste of F1, I know what I'd like to do, but we'll have to wait and see."

Speaking about his pitstop incident where Nakajima hit two men from his pitcrew he explained: "While I'm pleased with the lap times I achieved in the race, the first thing I want to say is sorry. When I came into the pits for my first pitstop on lap 31, I misjudged the braking distance into the box and hit two mechanics at the front of the car. It was an awful moment and I hope they both make a swift recovery."
