The new owners of the Spyker F1 team breathed a sigh of relief this afternoon after all teams agreed to allow the outfit to change its name to Force India for the 2008 season.
The FIA confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that, "Spyker's request to change its team name to Force India has been accepted."
Speaking to GPUpdate.net earlir this week, new co-owner Michiel Mol said that if the name change was approved promptly the team would be using the new identity as of the start of winter testing in November.
The team hopes the new Indian-focused name will help it attract business and sponsorship from companies keen to grow their profile in India.
