Bernie Ecclestone has brought the idea of a London Grand Prix back to the fore after he said the plan was by no means dead. There was originally hype around the possibility of a London street race back in 2004 after an F1 car demonstration down the famous Regent Street.
At the time it seemed that costs of turning central London into a race track would be too high to make the project work, but Ecclestone - now applying more pressure on Silverstone to make necessary improvements - says if the money is found there is no reason a London GP couldn't happen.
"It would be great if we could do it," he told the Evening Standard newspaper. "The idea is not dead in the water."
