Glock hopes to join Toyota

04 November 2007

On Friday it was announced that Toyota had filed a contract with the Contract Recognition Board for Timo Glock. The German still has an ongoing contract though with the BMW Sauber F1 team and the team already admitted it is keen to keep Glock for 2008. Glock though hopes to make the switch and race for Toyota F1 in 2008.

In an interview with German newspaper Bild Glock said: "One should realise they all want to get what's best for themselves. I was offered the opportunity to race for an other big team in Formula 1 and that is something BMW can not offer me so I hope they can change the current situation."

Glock furthermore said: "I am really grateful to BMW. The team has helped me a lot and I have always felt good with the team, but now it's time to move on. I hope we can come to an agreement soon."

Glock competed in the GP2 series this season and won the championship with iSport.
