The BMW Sauber F1 team remains totally in love with Nick Heidfeld after the German driver scored 61 points this season and helped the team secure second place in the constructors' battle after McLaren was excluded. Team boss Mario Theissen has paid tribute to his lead driver.
"We relied on Nick because we had already recognised his strengths in the past," Theissen said. "We believed he would perform much better than he had been able to before."
"Nick fulfilled our expectations and, therefore, provided a major contribution to the progress we are experiencing now," adds Theissen.
