
You could soon own a piece of Lewis Hamilton of the young Briton would list himself on the London stock market. According to British newspaper The Independent the McLaren driver is close to signing a cluntch of endorsement deals that will put on him track to become the world's first $1bn sportsman.
Hamilton could list a minority stake in a company in which he would be the main asset and remain the major shareholder. Several US sports stars are considering similar proposals, including Derek Jeter, the star batsman at the New York Yankees baseball team.
He Hamilton would list himself at the London stock market he could for example sell a 10 per cent stake. Investors in the company would be paid a dividend equivalent to 10 per cent of Hamilton's total future earnings.
