Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has threatened to quit his job if the World Motor Sport Council decides on Thursday to hand Lewis Hamilton the Formula 1 championship title.
The race stewards at the Brazilian Grand Prix noticed the Williams and BMW Formula 1 cars had fuel on board that had the wrong temperature and thus the cars were found illegal. Later on that same Sunday evening the race stewards decided not to hand out a penalty, as there was not enough to prove that the temperatures were illegal.
If the cars are found illegal after all Hamilton could move up three positions, but it is still the question if Hamilton will receive the extra points.
On Thursday the World Motor Sport Council will make a decision during their meeting in London. F1 boss Ecclestone though has already said that it would be absolutely ridiculous if the WMSC would decide to call the cars illegal after all. He told The Guardian: "If anyone thinks that's the best thing for formula one then I'd have very serious thoughts about me retiring," Ecclestone said
