
Former team owner Peter Sauber says he believes McLaren was really trying to win the drivers' championship at appeal last week, despite the Woking team insisting the opposite.
"This season deserved a better finish," he told Swiss newspaper Blick. "Apparently their lawyer explained it as something else. His strategy was clearly to establish the disqualification of Rosberg, Kubica and Heidfeld."
McLaren responded to the court's decision saying it was still waiting for a clarification of the rules regarding fuel temperatures.
