'Piquet should beat Alonso'

According to triple world champion Nelson Piquet his son shouldn't play second driver in case he will race with the Renault Formula 1 team next season. It is widely speculated that the French team will most likely race with Fernando Alonso and (current test driver) Nelson Piquet jr. in 2008.

According to his father Nelsinho shouldn't help out two-time world champion Alonso, but try and beat the Spaniard from the start. "He will have to start his Formula 1 career keeping in mind he can beat any driver out there," Nelson Piquet said about his son against Brazilian newspaper A Tribuna. "If Nelsinho races at Renault with Alonso he would do well if he will beat him in the first qualifying session. It would be the best start to show he won't play second driver."
