Honda denies Alonso rumours

The Honda team has denied rumours that Alonso could be on his way to the team for 2008, replacing Rubens Barrichello who would theoretically be placed at Super Aguri. The reports which emerged in the German press even suggested Alonso had been to Honda's factory for a seat fitting.

However a Honda spokesperson told ITV, "Fernando has not visited our factory and Honda confirmed our drivers for the 2008 season back in July."

Talks with Renault have slowed as Alonso only wants a short-term deal while Briatore wants to tie him down in the long term.
