Jenson Button says he is not expecting to be in a position to win races in 2008, despite issuing Honda with an ultimatum to improve significantly or else he will be looking elsewhere in 2009.
"I think we'll make a good step forward in 2008 from last year, although that isn't really that hard," Button told the BBC. "But we're not going to be winning races and I don't want people to be expecting that because it's not the case."
"The important thing is to start with a good car and improve every race to get closer to Ferrari and McLaren," he added. "Ross Brawn is a big part of that and if we have a competitive car by the end of next season, then I'll be very happy for 2008."
