Asmer enjoys first proper F1 test
06 December 2007 / Results / PhotosBritish F3 champion Marko Asmer enjoyed his first proper test in a Formula One car on Tuesday. The Estonian once did a straight line test with the Williams F1 team back in 2003, but that was nothing like a real day of testing Asmer said.
On Tuesday Asmer had to share his car with GP2 driver Javier Villa. Speaking about his first day of testing with the team Asmer told GPUpdate.net: "The test went ok really. We did everything that was scheduled and it all went smoothly."
For Asmer the day of testing with BMW was his first serious outing in a Formula 1 car. "The test with Williams (in 2003) was nothing compared to this," he said. "I drove with a speed limiter and active suspension. It was just some straight line testing. When I went out with this car on track it was totally different. This was really my first proper drive in a Formula 1 car. I really enjoyed it."
