Briatore considering McLaren legal action

Briatore considering McLaren legal action

06 December 2007

Renault chief Flavio Briatore has threatened legal action against McLaren if his team is cleared of espionage charges by the FIA World Motor Sport Council today. Renault is in court today in Monaco to answer the allegations against them.

Prior to the court hearing, McLaren issued a correction of a number of the facts it claimed during a press briefing a few weeks ago and Briatore has come out fighting saying he is ready to pursue the matter and take McLaren to court for damaging Renault's name.

"A lot of very bad things have been said about us by McLaren in the past few weeks which have been very damaging," Briatore told the Daily Express. "We'll be cleared and once the verdict is announced we'll consider legal action. Our reputation has been defamed."
