Kubica leads third day in Jerez
06 December 2007 / Results / PhotosRobert Kubica completed the fastest lap in Jerez on Thursday. The Polish BMW Sauber F1 driver completed 87 laps and set his fastest time of 1.19.157, just ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa. Ralf Schumacher completed a day of testing at Force India, he finished the day in last position.
Thursday was the third day of testing in sunny Jerez. The session was witnessed by over 17,000 local fans as it is a bank holiday in Spain. The day was interrupted several times with red flags. In the morning Sebastian Vettel spun his car at the hairpin (turn 6). Not much later Ralf Schumacher stopped at the end of the main straight with a technical problem and right before lunch the German spun his car off track causing red flags again.
In the afternoon, when temperatures went up to 22 degrees Celsius in sunny Spain, Kazuki Nakajima blew up his engine causing red flags again. Other drivers that spun in the afternoon were Takuma Sato and Nick Heidfeld.
Michael Schumacher completed 67 laps on Thursday. The German busied himself with the 2009 aero package in the afternoon on slick tyres.
