Rosberg agrees new Williams deal

09 December 2007

Nico Rosberg has signed a new deal with Williams to put an end to speculation that he could yet move to McLaren as Alonso's replacement. The 22-year-old finished ninth in the championship last year and has now extended his Williams deal by a year until the end of the 2009 season.

"Williams has made me an attractive, far better offer with a new contract up to the end of 2009 and I decided to accept it," Rosberg told the Bild newspaper. "For Williams, the question of letting me go (to McLaren) never came up."

Rosberg will be partnered by Japan's Kazuki Nakajima in 2008.
