Spanish Media: Alonso to join Renault

According to the Spanish media Fernando Alonso will be announced as Renault's 2008 driver within the next 48 hours. Alonso apparently has signed a two-year deal with the team and will be joined by Renault's Nelson Piquet jr. next season.

If the Spanish media is right Fernando Alonso will return to Renault after being away for just one season. Alonso joined McLaren for the 2007 season after winning the Formula One championship twice in a row. At McLaren though he never felt at home and noticed most of the love at McLaren went to his team-mate and rookie driver Lewis Hamilton.
