Schumacher looking forward to Race of Champions

Schumacher looking forward to Race of Champions

13 December 2007

On Sunday evening Michael Schumacher will join the Race of Champions at the Wembley stadium in London. The German will be one of the many drivers that will compete for victory. The last time Schumacher joined this special event was in 2004 when it was organised in Paris.

Looking ahead of the race Schumacher commented: "I look forward to finally get out there. The Race of Champions is just a great event. I remember having a lot of fun (in 2004). I thought it was a marvellous event, especially for the spectators who really seemed to enjoy themselves and cheered us all up. But it was also extremely funny for us drivers, get to know each other a bit better and competing for fun. So I have only good memories on this last event I was participating.

Schumacher furthermore said the main thing is not competing but enjoying the event at the Wembley stadium. "I have to admit that I do not take that competition too serious," he said. "For me, the fun factor is important, as is, in my case, the charity factor. I will race in London because the Race of Champions is supporting ICM, an initiative that I am extremely proud about being part of. To me, combining those things is the perfect option."
