Alonso set to return at Jerez
18 December 2007Fernando Alonso will return to the cockpit of an F1 car at the next main F1 test session at Jerez from January 14-16. The Spaniard will rejoin his old team and drive an F1 car for the first time since the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Alonso will be joined by new team mate Nelson Piquet Jr and the former champion will drive the 2007 car for this first test because Renault's new car will not be ready until the week after. It will also be the first time Alonso has tested without traction control and other driver aids.
