
Mario Andretti believes that this year's spy scandals in F1 have not done any lasting damage to the sport, and may even have enhanced it by bringing the action to the attention of a wider audience.
"How can you not pay attention to what's going on?" Andretti replied to Autoweek when asked if he took much interest in the spy stories. "You might think it hurts the sport's credibility, but you know what? It has brought a lot of attention and it's not all that bad."
"Both the FIA and McLaren are smart enough to take their licks and move on," he added.
Andretti went on to say his grandson Marco, who has tested for Honda, deserves to be in F1 some day soon.
