Shanghai's former F1 boss jailed

China's former Formula 1 track chief Mr. Yu Zhifei was sentenced on Thursday after being found guilty of embezzling around 140,000 dollars in public funds as part of a scheme to buy a home at a reduced price, AFP reports.

The 55-year-old Zhifei was sentenced to four years in jail a court official said. He was also fined 35,000 dollars.

The first Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix was organised in 2004.
