Ferrari's Jean Todt has said he is glad he picked Kimi Raikkonen as Michael Schumacher's successor at the Italian squad. The Frenchman picked Raikkonen instead of double world champion Fernando Alonso.
"I can't really tell you whether or not Raikkonen is a better driver than Alonso," Todt told German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport. "Both drivers are really great drivers and the car made the difference this season I believe. I am positive, as far as I can tell, that Kimi is a happy man at Ferrari.
"Kimi (Raikkonen) is one of the best drivers out of the past five season," Todt said. "I never really understood why some people were disappointed with the start of his season at Ferrari. We knew he could do it."
Raikkonen surprisingly won the 2007 Formula One championship in the final race in Brazil instead of one of McLaren's drivers.
