On Thursday the Force India Formula 1 team announced Giancarlo Fisichella as the team's new driver. The Italian brings twelve years of experience in Formula One but speaking at the press conference in Mumbai, India, he warned the fans in India they shouldn't expect miracles in Force India's first year in F1.
"The start of the season is going to be difficult," Fisichella said. "The first few races are not going to be easy for our team. Our chances will come in the second half of the season if we can move this team forward. If we push hard we can make the team move towards the top ten."
Speaking to the Indian press Fisichella continued saying: "Make no mistake, we are not going to win a race or even finish on the podium. But with our increased budget we will try to get the best possible result from the back of the grid. I'm sure we can become a mid-field team."
