Kimi Raikkonen was Monday's fastest driver out on track in Jerez. The Ferrari driver completed 59 laps with a fastest time of 1.19.856, which was three tenths of a second ahead of his team-mate Felipe Massa. Vettel was the fastest man in a 2007 car in fourth position.

The first day out of a three-day test in the South of Spain started on a wet track. Through-out the day through the track dried fortunately. The Toyota team gave its new TF108 car an official testing debut today following a successful roll-out at the same track yesterday (Sunday). "The main target today was to get information and data about the new car, how it behaves and how it reacts to changes, and we achieved that in both wet and dry conditions," explained Toyota's general chassis manager Pascal Vasselon.

Five out of the 14 F1 drivers were completing their laps today in the 2008 car. They were; Kimi Raikkonen, Felipe Massa, Pedro de la Rosa, Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli.

The teams will continue testing on Tuesday.
