Glock fastest on final day at Jerez
16 January 2008 / Results / PhotosToyota's new driver Timo Glock was the fastest driver at Jerez on Thursday. The German completed his fastest lap at the end of the day on a dry track, while most of the day the track was wet. Red Bull launched its RB4 in the morning with David Coulthard behind the wheel for the team's shakedown.
Thursday was the third and final day of testing for pretty much every team in Jerez. The Formula 1 teams started its test programme on Tuesday and Renault will be the only team that will continue to run on Friday. Renault will give World Series by Renault winner Alvaro Parente one day of testing.
The track in Jerez was wet for most of the day thanks to overnight showers. The track wouldn't dry until late in the afternoon. The session was stopped multiple times by little incidents on track. Lewis Hamilton caused a red flag in the morning and afternoon as he spun off.
David Coulthard completed 54 laps in the team's brand new RB4 but unfortunately for David and his team he suffered from an engine failure at the end of the day.
At Williams the team's test driver Nico Hulkenberg took over from Nico Rosberg, while Adrian Sutil took over from Giancarlo Fisichella at Force India F1.
The Formula 1 teams will travel to Valencia next week for another three-day test.
