Alonso: We need to close the gap

Fernando Alonso releases upon his return at the Renault Formula 1 team there is a lot of work to do in order to get the team back in a winning mood. The team is still well behind on McLaren and Ferrari at the moment and Alonso admitted he doesn't expect the team to fight for podium positions at the moment.

"The first thing we need to do now is to close the gap with the top teams such as McLaren and Ferrari because we are far behind them at the moment," said Alonso. "It is impossible for us to fight for podiums or race victories at this point so that is something we need to work hard on… very hard."
