Alonso happier with each passing day

Fernando Alonso says he is getting happier with each day he spends behind the wheel of the new Renault, after a positive test at Barcelona in which he finished the final day less than 0.2s of the overall pace.

"We are able to keep improving our understanding of the Bridgestone tyres, and also the new way of setting up the car with no traction control or engine braking," Alonso said. "Everyday I am happier with the car and these have been useful days here in Barcelona."

The Renault remained largely reliable over the three-day test with only minor problems disrupting running briefly.
