Christian Klien may have spent the past year as Honda test driver and despite moving to BMW to fulfill the same role, the Austrian is determined to get back to an F1 race seat again, after he was dropped by Red Bull.
"I'm very clear about my determination to race in F1 again," Klien said. "To achieve that my move into a top manufacturer team as test and reserve driver is an excellent opportunity. I would say the very best opportunity other than racing for BMW. So I'm going to make the most of this chance to work with their program."
Klien earlier insisted he would be ready to step in for Kubica or Heidfeld, should be need to. "I've raced against them both so of course I know them," Klien said. "I expect we'll work well together and concentrate on helping the engineers understand the car and get the best from it. I'm certain we'll make a good team."
