Lewis Hamilton finished fastest of the sixteen drivers in action at Jerez today with a lap of 1m19.102s to finish just 0.1s ahead of McLaren tester Pedro de la Rosa. BMW's Robert Kubica was third, 0.4s off the pace.

Seven other teams joined Williams and Red Bull at the Spanish circuit meaning everyone bar Ferrari and Toyota was in action.

With the front wing problems fixed, Williams' Kazuki Nakajima finished fourth fastest ahead of Nelson Piquet Jr in the Renault. Heidfeld finished sixth in the second BMW despite a number of small problems throughout the day that interrupted his progress.

Monday's pace setter, Mark Webber ended seventh still running the radical Red Bull engine cover. Also in action today was Vettel for Toro Rosso in ninth, Barrichello and Wurz struggling for Honda in twelfth and sixteenth, Sato for Super Aguri and Liuzzi for Force India.

Testing at Jerez continues tomorrow.
