There wasn't only poor weather in Barcelona, but in Valencia the BMW-Sauber F1 team was also hindered by the bad weather conditions in Spain. Due to the damp conditions on track both Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld were able to complete only a few laps.
Due to the bad weather conditions the team could not run the first of three test days as scheduled. The BMW-Sauber F1 team decided to save testing mileage - limited by the regulations - for future sessions. Instead Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica concentrated on system checks, collecting data with the F1.08 car running on wet and extreme wet tyres.
Kubica limited his driving to six laps overall. Heidfeld did practice starts in the wet. In the afternoon the team conducted several practice pitstops under different conditions as a special training for the mechanics.
Today, Wednesday, the team will continue testing with Kubica and Heidfeld in Valencia.
