
According to the latest rumours McLaren team boss and shareholder Ron Dennis will announce his departure from the team later this week. The 61-year-old Briton has taken this decision without any pressure from Mercedes or the rest of the team according to the Sunday times.
Ron Dennis joined the McLaren Formula 1 team back in 1981 and made it one of the most successful teams in the history of Formula 1. While leading his team he brought men like Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Mika Hakkinen to the top.
It is expected that Martin Whitmarsh will take over duties from Ron Dennis starting in Melbourne. Ron Dennis has decided he wants to spend more time with his family.
