Williams aims for podiums
06 March 2008The Williams Toyota team will be regularly fighting to podium finishes in 2008, according to the team's co-owner Patrick Head, but he has also warned against raising expectations too high of the team being the best of the rest behind Ferrari and McLaren.
"Obviously we are always designing for the highest possible position, so the result depends upon our relative capability at the time," Head said. "Although Nico will be starting his third season in F1, Kazuki will be starting his first, so the driver line up will not be as experienced as might be expected for a team competing for a Championship. However, we intend to be regular podium visitors in 2008."
Asked to be more specific about his predictions for 2008, he added, "The races will be contested mostly between Ferrari and McLaren, as in 2007, that at least one race will be won by a third team and that Williams will make progress from 2007."
